Based on the words, work and images of contemporary Haudenosaunee and Wabanaki artists, this exhibition offers a window into traditional arts as they are practiced in three communities in the northeast corner of the United States.

• Layers of Time: Archeology at the Abbe Musuem; The Arthur & Nita Wood Artifacts CollectionThe Wood Collection is an important addition to the Abbe’s existing collection of archaeological material from the Frenchman Bay area and various other locations in Maine. Since 1928, the Abbe Museum has accumulated and cataloged hundreds of artifacts, and has conducted professional excavations throughout the mid-coast region.
• Twisted Path: Contemporary Native American Artist Walking in Two WorldsFeaturing ten contemporary Native artists, this invitational exhibition features artwork that reflects personal stories about tribal identity and balancing life in a complex world.
